East Pretty Pool at Port Hedland in Western Australia
Description:  The sand is yellow and medium to coarse-grained so does not blow in the wind. The dunes behind the beach are part of a Reserve and vehicles are not permitted. Avoid low tide, or be prepared for a walk as the sea recedes some 250m across the flat. Above the sand car park is a small sealed car park with rubbish bins, toilets and showers. Bathing is best between August and October with temperatures 15-20C to 25-30C. During the summer expect maximum temperatures up to 45oC and the region is subject to cyclones. Rain is unusual between July and December as most of the rain falls during the summer as storms, or during May-June. A sea breeze is normal from lunchtime and cools off the town during summer. The beach is still enjoyable unless a really strong wind is blowing.
Directions:  East Pretty Pool is a legal clothing optional beach. The best section of the beach is 150m east of the sign on the beach, where there is gently sloping sand down to a sandy tidal flat.
